Surrey Jive’s monthly dances are called ‘Rubys’ after our pin-up logo. Held throughout the year, apart from August, we host some of the very best bands on the vintage dance scene, and they are well attended. Vintage clothes are encouraged, but they are not considered essential. We just want you to feel comfortable and have a nice evening with us.
Our resident vintage DJ ‘Shakin Shep’ has established himself as one of the hottest DJs on the jive circuit. With his extensive collection of 1950’s RnB, Rock n Roll, and Rockabilly, he knows how to keep the dance floor rockin.’
Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall is a beautifully maintained, period dance hall, complete with large sprung dance floor, excellent acoustics and licensed bar. Located close to the M25, there is free parking in the large car park.
Times
7.30 pm – 11.15 pm with tickets available in advance through our website. Those remaining, will be sold on the door for the same price but please book early to avoid being disappointed as our dances often sell out.
Ticket Price
On average, admission is £13.00 per person, but this may vary depending on the cost of the band. We take cash or card payments on the door. Please see our calendar for dates and admission fees.
On arrival you can expect a warm friendly atmosphere. You do not have to have attended our classes to come to our dances. So, whether you come to dance, listen to the band or socialise, everyone is welcome at ‘The Home of Happy Feet.’
