Rockabilly Royalty is coming to Ruby’s!

Inspired from an early age by the music of Elvis Presley and Eddie Cochran, he fine-tuned his skills to become one on the very best musicians in his field. Quickly recognised, he toured and recorded with Eddie Cochran’s original band ‘The Kelly Four’ and played lead guitar in the West End production of Elvis: The Musical. Together with The Enforcers, he has gone on to play with some of the of the legends of popular music and these include Sir Paul McCartney, Stray Cats drummer Slim Jim Phantom, Jeff Beck (The Yardbirds), Robert Plant (Led Zepplin), Bono (U2), Shakin Stevens, Jools Holland, Imelda May, Billy Lee Riley (Sun Records), Rocky Burnette (The Johnny Burnette Rock n’ Roll Trio) to name but a few.

With Darrel Higham & The Enforcers you can expect authentic hard-driving Rockabilly and Rock ’n’ Roll, blistering guitar work and the irresistible rhythms that jivers love to dance to. This isn’t someone simply recreating the sound of the 1950s — Darrel has spent a lifetime immersed in it and you won’t leave disappointed. This is going to be a very special night.

In between sets Shakin Shep (Surrey Jive’s resident DJ) will be playing from his huge collection of floor fillers that include, RnB, Rock n’ Roll, Rockabilly and Jump Jive.

Our dances are well attended, and you will find a warm and friendly atmosphere to greet you. Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, Woodfield Lane, Ashtead, Surrey, KT21 2BE has a large sprung dance floor, licensed bar and large free car park. The hall is situated close to the M25.
