“Lest we Forget” – Remembrance Wartime Dance with Tom Carradine
This has to be one of our most popular dances of the year, and the atmosphere is always fantastic but respectful. We go to great lengths to decorate the hall as a period dance hall, and the props just seem to keep growing every year. So why not get in the spirit and come dressed in 1940’s Allied uniform or civilian dress to add to the authenticity? There will be a prize for best dressed. Who knows ladies you may even get to dance with a G.I.! That said, if dressing up is not for you, please don’t worry just come as you are, it is your company that is important.
The extremely talented Tom Carradine will be performing for you on piano, and he will be playing a host of your wartime favourites so we can have a sing-along and a good ol’ cockney knees up! Either side of Tom’s performance Shakin Shep (Surrey Jive’s resident DJ) will be playing a mix of Swing and R&B (no Rock n’ Roll this month, it will return in December).
Our dances are well attended, and you will find a warm and friendly atmosphere to greet you. Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, has a large sprung dance floor, licensed bar and large free car park or motor pool. The hall is situated close to the M25.
Tickets are £13.00 per person, and they can be purchased in advance via the attached link. Should there be any tickets remaining these will be sold on the door at the same price but please book early to avoid being disappointed.
Thank you very much for looking and we hope to see you on the dance floor at The Home of Happy Feet!
